I’m Pastor Giang Seo Seng, born on 29th of July, 1985
Title: Pastor of San Bay Church, Chief Representative of Lao Cai province- ECVN
Address: Di Thang village, Na Hoi commune, Bac Ha District, Lao Cai Province
I was born and raised in a family with parents who believed in God through the Radio channel Nguon Song in the 1990s. In 1997, I accepted the Lord because I saw my parents’ lives changed, and I was taught the Bible by my mother. In 2003, after graduating from high school, I received a Thai Binh Medical University – Thai Binh province sent me an admission letter, because I studied in high school at Viet Bac Highland School is a central boarding school for children of ethnic minorities who have an excellent track record. I got a scholarship to study at Thai Binh University of Medicine but decided return to my hometown to be a doctor. But at that point I was forced to choose. One is to quit God to go to school to become a doctor. The other is that if I choose to believe in God, I must give up my studies. Although being a doctor had always been my dream, after the prayers me and my family decided to choose God.
At the end of 2003, when I heard that UUC drafted for spiritual study class 2004-2008 at Ho Chi Minh city, I applied for the school. With the help of the faithful Pastor corps on the financial situation and through the deep, close instructions of the professors like Pastor Le Tan (Systematic theology I,II), Pastor Tran Thanh Minh (Pentateuch, Small Groups, Ephesians), Pastor Phuc Thanh Tuoi (Christian Ethics)… I completed the course.
After graduating, I returned to the North at Lao Cai and have served serve God here since 2009 until now. The first years of serving God was met with intrusions, traveling was rough, the church was not stable, but thank God, because of God’s grace I overcame my time of hardship. As one of the first H’mong at Vietnam to study the Bachelor of Theology so I truly wish to bring all that I have learned from the Bible through the professors and personal experiences of God to the next generations. On that note, there are still many that are not saved who are still in need of the Gospel, so apart from training the leaders of the churches, young people… I also train many personnels to assist me in my preaching services, largening the new churches.
We have about 60 preaching missionaries, we travel from village to village to preach the Gospel. Every 3 months we have a meeting to share about God’s work to celebrate together and praise the Lord for the blessings He gave as well as praying for each other. Every year we help around 400-500 people believe in God and have opened 42 new churches until now.
I often thank the UUC and the professors for guiding me all those years ago. We pray that God would bless the school, for the professors to continue their work to train God’s servers. Looking forward to seeing the professors and former students of class 2004-2008 to share, talk about God’s work everywhere.
